Last evening I walked to the University of Wisconsin campus to learn what was happening regarding the genocide in Gaza.
I first attended the Palestinian Community Discussion. The woman introducing the panel began by stating the casualties. She began to cry before she could say the number of children killed in Gaza. The room was completely silent, no one moved for the several minutes it took her to regain her composure. “14,000 children killed in Gaza, so far.”
The first speaker had to stop several times as he told of being chased by Israeli soldiers when he was 14 years old. Running down an alley with no side streets. He turned and saw the muzzle flash as he was shot at.

Encampment
From the panel discussion I went to the pro-Palestine encampment on the Library Mall of the University.

Yahya Ashour
On February 8th I had walked to the University to hear Palestinian poet Yahya Ashour tell similar horror stories and read some of his poems. https://unflinching.blog/2024/02/09/2-9-2024-yahya-ashour/
