But if Empire is back, then so is its enemy: the pirate. Pirate care is the revolutionary practice of the plebeian multitude against Empire. In potent yet not widely recognized ways, pirate carers are striking back from a position of deep asymmetry. In doing so, they are opening up a space of political possibility. By caring despite the laws and despite all odds, they immanently enact a different, insurgent world.
…
Uncaring Empire does not simply ignore care. It seeks to monopolize it and divide it between the state, the market, and the family. In building care in defiance of all three, pirate care practices challenge this order fundamentally, demonstrating that another world of care is possible.
Graziano, Valeria; Mars, Marcell; Medak, Tomislav. Pirate Care: Acts Against the Criminalization of Solidarity
The Palestinian resistance, steadfast in the face of the most barbaric U.S.-funded, Israeli genocide, has inspired a worldwide, anti-imperialist solidarity movement. The first-ever live-streamed genocide showed the world that the U.S. political establishment has no limits in terms of the level of barbarity and viciousness they will support and fund. This has included every imaginable war crime from forced starvation, the killing of tens of thousands of people, to the carpet bombing of nearly the entirety of Gaza, destroying all vital infrastructure, even occupied hospitals. Layer upon layer of the most horrific mass graves have been discovered at these medical facilities.
Particularly alarming to the U.S. ruling class has been the college students on over 150 campuses setting up encampment occupations demanding their schools disclose and divest from Israeli firms.
Because the fight for Palestinian liberation is intertwined with the larger push for self-determination and independence from U.S. interference throughout the Middle East, the movement is not just anti-colonial, it is anti-imperialist.
