‘Where do we invest our time and efforts now?’ was discussed in yesterday’s article, Our chance. The day before, I wrote, ‘As the Trump administration cuts funding for social safety nets, I’m led to believe we must focus on local community building, and that Mutual Aid provides a framework for doing that’ in Envision the world our ancestors want for us.
Building on that background, here is a document I wrote that goes into this in more detail. Spirit, Justice, Mutual Aid, Healing, Survival. From the introduction:
This discussion about Spirit, Justice, Mutual Aid, Healing and Survival is not
an academic exercise. The capitalist economic system continues to transfer
great wealth to the elites, which means those who aren’t rich are
increasingly impoverished. White supremacy and dominance continue
oppression via outrageous legislation and increasingly militaristic policing.
Including dramatically criminalizing those who engage in peaceful protest as
domestic terrorists. Banning books! And rapidly evolving environmental
chaos will increasingly impact millions of people. Which will destroy shelter,
and systems that supply our basic necessities.
