What will Friends do?

I realize my recent writings have been negative. In part because I have high expectations of Quakers, and don’t think we are living up to them. In part because I think the world desperately needs what Friends can offer. And because we have failed to recognize that we are not in a position to offer such support in communities that have always been and continue to be oppressed by our white society.

An amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act that was just passed in the US House will automatically register men aged 18-26 for the Selective Service System. That might not make it into the final version of the bill.
