Living Under Injustice

A comment about my last post raises important questions.

It was pointed out that I made an overly broad statement when I wrote, “It comes down to this. It is not possible to address the root causes of injustice from within an unjust system. Until we reject the colonial system of white supremacy and the capitalist economic system, we will not be doing the justice work I believe we are called to do now.” I meant that in the context of what I also wrote, “I am disappointed in my Quaker faith community, that has a history of working for peace and justice. That cannot see the hypocrisy of doing such work while enjoying the privileges given to white people in this country. This hypocrisy is the reason so many Quaker meetings have so little diversity.”
