New Anti-War Movement

Yesterday I wrote “where is the peace movement?”

I was wondering why there wasn’t a response to the devastation of Gaza, similar to the antiwar movement I was part of during the Vietnam War.

I’ve recently moved to Madison, Wisconsin, and have been looking for justice communities, looking to see if there is a weekly peace vigil. I found one, but it was in Milwaukee.

Peace actions these days are related to the devastation of Gaza, and being organized by Mutual Aid, Black Liberation Movements, and Palestinian support groups. Not the peace groups I grew up with.

The new anti-war movement

The evening of Feb 9, 2024, I walked to the University of Wisconsin to hear (Palestinian) Yahya Ashour read some of his poems.
